I was looking for a word to describe this past Tuesday. The word that came to mind was delight. I got to spend the evening with some very special friends at a dear friends magical wedding on the beach in Monterey, California. We celebrated their love by witnessing their commitment to each other. We also took a vow to support both the groom and bride in thier years together in marriage.
Most of us have been friends for years and have gone through a lot together. We all met through a workshop program that we still participate in. So we have support one another, cried together, grown together and have a deep bond. There were also some wonderful new friends.
After the ceremony we spent time connecting. laughing, playing full out in joy and dancing. In between giggles and hugs we managed to be very silly and present in the moment. One of the fun things we did was pose on a surfboard for photos. We laughed so hard and did so many silly poses.
As most of you, I work hard and have a lot of things I juggle to keep my life running smooth. What keeps me feeling good and motivated, is taking care of myself. One of the ways I do that is to play and spend time with good friends being present in the moment.
So, yes, delight is the word that comes to mind. A special jewel of a moment that when I sit here and write about it, makes my face break into a smile and my heart expand with such love for my friends and the joy we shared. So take a moment, find some delight.
