I was lugging in a heavy case of my green kombucha into my home this afternoon and saw a small stone sitting in the middle of my front porch right in my way. So I kicked it to the side huffing as the box of full glass bottles got heavier. I put the box on the counter and then I Â thought I should go find that rock. I had no reason to go back outside and look. Â It was just a feeling that it might be important because it was sitting in such an unusual place and there are no other stones or rocks around. I went back outside and spotted the rock I had kicked down the porch. When I picked it up I was surprised to find it looked like a heart.
I know people who find pennies and believe they are signs from deceased loved ones. Or a woman who finds nickels right before she gets new clients. We all interpret these small acts of wonders in our own way. I wanted to share my rock with you because I almost missed seeing it. I was in such a hurry rushing to finish my “to do list” for the day that I had carelessly kicked it to the side. The funny part of this story is that this morning I set the intention to focus on staying present and in my heart all week long. My goal is to make being present such a habit that it becomes second nature to me. My other goal is to come from my heart in any interaction I have wether it be an easy one, a hard one, business or pleasure. To be heart centered.
I stayed present and in my heart all morning. Then in the afternoon I went to my busy mind and focused on doing instead on being. So was this heart shaped rock a sign to remind me of my intention? Who knows. I will take it as a sign to stay on my path. I will also keep this small stone near me to remind myself of the promise I made myself this morning. Be present and heart centered no matter the circumstances.
