My learning curve has been steep this past week as we are getting ready to launch my new community site. One of my teammates flew in from Australia and is staying here to help me. As we were working in the studio making videos, he was coaching me and giving me pointers. What I did not know was the cameras were on the whole time. When we went to the editing room to work on editing them, I got to see it all play out.
What I noticed was as he would give me pointers or advice, I would negotiate the point. I would them implement the suggestion, be pleased by the results and then negotiate with him again. I had no idea I was doing it and am so grateful that he was so patient with me. As I watched myself negotiate on the points I realized I had some resistance to the process.I apologized for being so difficult and negotiating everything.
As a coach I ask clients to go out of their comfort zones and they will negotiate with me and have resistance. It is my job to help them through the process so that they can get the results they desire. This was the same thing for me. I was having resistance to creating the videos and having them go live. Once I realized that was the reason, I was able to let it go.
My desire is to launch a wonderful new community on my new site. I am invested in the outcome and the services I can provide to others. I have been excited about it since I came up with the idea in the spring. My team has been by my side helping me turn it into a reality. With change there can be bits of being uncomfortable or fearful. It is how we deal with change that matters in the end
